Seven original songs, recorded in two one-day sessions at Sound Stage Nashville.

About Ryan Hold

Ryan Hold's musical journey began at six with a melodica, followed by years playing trombone. At 21 he bought his first guitar, took one half-hour lesson, and immediately began writing his own songs.

In Germany, Ryan sang and played rhythm guitar in a hard rock band before forming and leading his own band for about three years. Family and business later took priority, and he moved to the United States in 1990 — but he never stopped writing and playing.

In 1998, Ryan built a home recording studio in a barn in Tarpon Springs, Florida. There he recorded his original songs, playing nearly everything himself, with a friend contributing bass and some guitar parts.

After moving to a small island in the Bahamas, he performed his songs at a coffeehouse. In 2018, he joined friends in the wedding band Simplicity as its bass player, enjoying the experience of making music with others. The band performs regularly during the November–June wedding season.

Through Simplicity, Ryan helped supply sound equipment for Chris Farren's annual Combustion Music charity event in Hope Town, where hit songwriters perform their own songs. Ryan became the resident sound engineer — but wished he were onstage instead. After plenty of persistence, Chris arranged a Nashville studio session. Ryan later organized a second session himself, with Chris's blessing.

Seven songs, two sessions, two days. And the songwriting continues.
